The Hurricane Rim Loop is the master class. An IMBA Epic — the International Mountain Bicycling Association's recognition for trails that combine technical terrain, scenic value, and sustained challenge — that links JEM, Goulds Rim, and Hurricane Rim into a 16+ mile loop along the cliff edge above the Virgin River.
This is an intermediate-to-advanced full-day ride. The terrain is technical-chunky for sustained sections (more so than JEM alone), and the cliff exposure is real — Hurricane Rim drops 1,000 feet straight down to the river in places. But the views are unrelenting: Zion to the north, Pine Valley peaks to the west, the Hurricane Cliffs below. Most riders run the loop counterclockwise (JEM out, rim back).
For riders comfortable on JEM, this is the natural next step. For first-timers in the area, save it for day 2 or 3 — JEM and Wire Mesa first to dial in fitness and bike setup.
