The Pa'rus Trail is the only trail in all of Zion National Park where dogs are allowed — and one of the few that's also stroller- and wheelchair-friendly. 3.3 miles round-trip, paved the entire way, running parallel to the Virgin River from the visitor center to Canyon Junction.

For families with dogs: this is *the* hike. Leashed dogs welcome, water spigots along the route, soft cottonwood-shaded sections, gentle grades. For families with strollers: same path. For wheelchair users: paved with benches, accessibility-grade design.

**Best window:** golden hour. The trail catches the last 90 minutes of sun on the canyon walls. Park at the visitor center, walk the trail, return after sunset for ranger-led astronomy programs in summer.

Before you go

  • Dogs must remain leashed at all times
  • Bikes must yield to pedestrians
  • Limited shade past the cottonwood sections — bring water and hats
