Guided Adventure
50,000 acres of red dunes, slickrock bowls, and the famous 'Top of the World' overlook, with rental Can-Am Mavericks for 1–6 passengers.
Sand Mountain — the OHV park adjacent to Sand Hollow State Park — is 50,000 acres of red sand dunes, slickrock bowls, and dirt-road network. The famous 'Top of the World' overlook crests the rim with the Pine Valley Mountains and the turquoise Sand Hollow Reservoir below. It's the kind of activity that turns adults into kids inside ten minutes.
Most guests rent rather than guide. Sand Hollow Rentals (the official park concessioner) and Mad Moose Rentals carry Can-Am Mavericks in 2-, 4-, and 6-passenger configurations. Pricing runs $250-450 per half-day depending on vehicle. Both shops handle Utah OHV permitting, orange whip flags, and ride-out logistics.
**For first-time UTV drivers:** ask for a 30-minute intro before they hand over the keys. The dunes are forgiving but the slickrock bowls reward technique and punish carelessness. For families: most rentals accept ages 5+ as passengers; minimum driving age is 16 with a valid license.
